A Non Dairy Ice Cream Life

Food can always make me happy on a rainy day, whether it's a nice platter of sushi or a big bowl of ice cream, I'm all smiles. My food world was crushed when I was about 14 when I started to develop several severe food allergies. Everything from peaches, to almonds and even dairy would send me to the emergency room.

Since then I have been living an almost fruit and dairy free life. When grocery shopping I would stand in front of the ice cream freezers and stare at some of my favourite ice creams; mint chocolate chip, pralines and cream, cookie dough and chocolate, and think "poor me...I'll never be able to eat ice cream again"

It has been a long road figuring out what I can eat and finding alternatives, but in the past couple of years a miracle happened!! I have been able to enjoy some of the most delicious ice cream! Non diary ice cream that I've made in the comfort of my own home!

I've made oreo ice cream, ginger honey sorbet, grape fruit sorbet, and many more.
I have started this blog to share these recipes with whoever is craving a good bowl of ice cream.
So I hope you all enjoy! Pin It

  1. THANK you for your blog! I too have a dairy allergy, and it appears my 9 month old is on the same path. I am so excited to try your recipes this summer while everyone else is eating their boring old, high fat, cow ice cream! I'm particularly interested in the honey ginger and the apple cider sorbets. Sounds so intriguing! Thanks again for taking the time to share what you've learned. :)

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's allergies, it can be so scary.
