This recipe is an old one! I made these one quite a bit last year! That was until I became allergic to kiwis...lol. But I thought I would share it anyways and that others would benefit from it!
What you'll need:
- 4 kiwis (peeled and chopped into quarters)
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 2 cup of water
In a pot, heat the water and sugar until the sugar has dissolve. Set aside and let cool.
Once the sugar water has cooled pour it into a food processor and add the kiwis. Blend until smooth.
Assemble ice cream maker (making sure that you have had your freezer bowl in the freezer for at least 24hrs).
Pour mixture into ice cream machine, turn on and let churn for about 40 mins.
If it isn't frozen enough for your liking just put in to the freezer for about 20 mins.
Scoop into a serving bowl and enjoy!

Coconut with Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
This one was very good! And very easy! Not overly sweet, just the right amount of coconut flavour and nice bits of chocolate chips. Only bad thing was after I had a bowl, I forgot to put in back in the freezer and the rest all melted :(
What you'll need:
- 1 can of coconut milk
- 1/2 container or nutriwhip (or a non dairy cream substitute)
- 1/2 a 70% dark chocolate lindt bar (chop into fine pieces)
Pour your coconut milk and nutriwhip into a bar and stir to combine.
Assemble your ice cream machine (making sure you've had your freezer bowl in the freezer for AT LEAST 24hrs).
Pour your coconut/nutriwhip mixture into the ice cream machine and turn on.
Let it churn for about 20 mins, then add chocolate pieces.
Let churn for another 15 mins, scoop into a serving dish and enjoy!! Pin It

Blackberry Ice Cream Recipe
Normally when I use fruit I normally make a sorbet but this one is made with a non dairy cream substitute. I have made blackberry sorbet before and I actually prefer it with a "cream" base instead.
What you'll need:
- 3 cups of blackberries
- 4 tbsp of sugar
- 1/3 cup of water
- non dairy cream substitute (I use nutriwhip)
In a pot add the blackberries, sugar and water. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes till the blackberries are soft.
Pour the blackberries into a strainer over a bowl, use a fork to push the blackberries through the strainer. Let it cool.
Once it's done cooling add it to your non dairy cream.
Assemble your ice cream maker, turn it on and pour mixture into the machine. Let it churn for about 30-45 minutes.
Once it's done, scoop some into a serving dish and enjoy!!

Easy Chocolate Mint Ice Cream
This one is interesting, it's kind of like mint chocolate chip ice cream but reversed. Still delicious!
What you'll need:
- your non dairy substitute
- 1/2 cup of 1"x1" pieces of dark chocolate (containing no dairy products)
- 2 tsp mint extract
Pour your non dairy substitute (I use nutriwhip) into a pot with the chocolate and heat till all the chocolate has melted. Let it cool.
Once it has cooled add 2 tsps of mint extract.
Assemble ice cream machine, turn on and pour mixture in. Let it churn for 30-45 mins!

Mint chocolate chip ice cream!
I did it!! I finally did it! I made my favourite ice cream!!! The colour was perfect! It was heaven in my mouth!
What you'll need:
- Your non-dairy cream substitute (I use nutriwhip)
- Chocolate (I used 70% dark lindt, no milk in it)
- mint extract
- green food colouring
Pour the nutriwhip into a bowl and add about 2 teaspoons of mint extract (taste and add more depending on how minty you'd like it).
Add 2 teaspoons of green food colouring into the mixture.
Assemble ice cream machine and pour mixture in.
While mixture is being turned in the machine, chop your chocolate into small bits almost like shavings.
After 15 minutes pour the chocolate bits into the ice cream machine with the mixture. Don't add the chocolate at the beginning because it will make the chocolate frozen and hard, making it harder to taste it that way.
It was DELICIOUS!! Thumbs up!

Reasons to Eat Non Dairy Ice Cream

1. Having An Allergy or Intolerance:
Dairy allergies are one of the most common food allergies people have, effects ranging from discomfort, to anaphylactic shock. I unfortunately suffer from anaphylaxis if I eat most types of dairy products. So if you fall into this category of allergies or intolerance then eating non dairy ice cream is a great alternative to discomfort or even a trip to the hospital.
2. Being Vegan:
More and more people are becoming vegan. If you are someone who chooses to not eat (or use) any animal byproducts but LOVE ice cream than eating non dairy ice cream is the way to go! Come on, who wouldn't like a nice lemon lime sorbet?!
3. Living a healthier lifestyle:
There are some disadvantages people have found with consuming dairy. One disadvantage are the contaminants that could be found in diary products such as pesticides and synthetic hormones that can be harmful to the body over time. Another disadvantage is that dairy products are very high in fat and cholesterol.
4. Trying Something New:
You don't really need a reason to try non dairy ice cream at the end of the day though! Even if you don't necessarily fit into any of these categories but you want to try something new and tasty and that is a perfect reason to try non dairy ice cream!
