This is an AMAZING sorbet! It has that right amount a sweetness and a perfect tartness! Everyone I have made it for loves it!
What you'll need:
1 cup of sugar (you can increase or decrease depending on how sweet you want it)
1 1/2 cup of water
2 grape fruits (washed)
If you are using an ice cream making machine you need to make sure that the freezer bowl has been in the freezer for a day or two before trying to make this.
Pour the water and sugar into a small pot and heat until all the sugar has been dissolved. Then put sugar water in the fridge to cool.
Zest one of the grape fruits, then cut both in half and squeeze all that yummy juice out into a bowl with the zest. What I like to do it make sure there is some of the pulp in the bowl too, so I scrape the grape fruits with a spoon. This way the sorbet will have these bits of frozen pulp pieces!
Once the sugar water has cooled, add it to the grapefruit juice.
Then set up your ice cream machine or any method you are using to make the ice cream and pour the mixture in, and turn it on.
I normally wait about 30 mins, or you can take a peek every once and a while to see how the consistency is and stop when it's good for you.
Now you are left with grapefruit sorbet that's to die for!!
